Our Fèis day takes place in September, during the Tarbert Music Festival, and welcomes children of all abilities. The day is an opportunity for individuals to come together and develop skills in the Gaelic arts – song, dance, drama, and traditional music on a wide range of instruments.

Our aim is to inspire the next generation of children to play traditional music with some of Scotland’s leading musicians and tutors. No previous experience of music is required, just an enthusiastic attitude and willingness to take part. From complete beginners to more advanced players, the Feis day has something for everyone.

Workshops for 8-18 year olds will take place in various venues around the village from 10 - 3:30 on Saturday 16th September. Participants should select 4 workshops in any combination they choose - try something new or concentrate on a favourite instrument.

For the first time this year, we are running Meanh Feis (transition Feis) for seven year olds alongside the main Feis. Just like the older group, the Meanbh Feis group will have four workshops with the same great tutors, but will follow a fixed program and the tutors will come to them in once location. For younger children, our popular Feis Bheag ( little Feis) will take place in the morning, with an introduction to Gaelic music and rhythms for 4-6 year olds.

September prices: Feis and Meanh Feis £15, including t-shirt

Feis Bheag £5, including T-shirt

We offer regular workshops for people of all ages. Click on 'Book' to register and see the upcoming dates. Participants aged 8-18 should choose three sessions in each workshop. You can choose three different instruments or just choose your favourite instrument for all three sessions - the choice is yours. If you want to learn just one instrument, please make sure you book three separate sessions on that instrument. Adults can choose two sessions in each workshop. Again you can choose two different instruments or your favourite instrument for both sessions, but remember, if you want to learn just one instrument, you will need to book two separate sessions on that instrument. Please also indicate your level in the form that appears before you checkout, if you can play a tune, this means you are an intermediate rather than a beginner!
